When it comes to curating your wardrobe, the best advice I can give is to shop for your lifestyle first. I used to be so guilty of purchasing pieces for some idealistic way of life. These pieces usually hung in my closet, collecting dust, making me feel guilty, and then eventually being donated. Changing this one shopping habit has helped me find my personal style and create my own style mantra.
Cute comfort is my style mantra. Wanting comfort from my wardrobe isn’t a new thing. Motherhood had me looking for ways to reinvent my wardrobe to accommodate busy days at home, running errands, meetings, and school drop offs. I refuse to be uncomfortable but I still want to look stylish and put together.
Getting started on a new style journey can be overwhelming. Perhaps, you’re looking for a way to define your style, or looking to purge what you no longer wear and invest in pieces that will stand the test of time. A great first step is creating a capsule wardrobe – a smaller collection of clothing you can wear over and over in multiple ways for multiple occasions. Whether you are creating a capsule wardrobe for a vacation, a season, or for your main wardrobe, this is a way to focus your personal style for the person you are and life you have.
If you’ve already taken the Encircled Capsule Wardrobe Quiz and landed on my blog post, you’re on the right track to creating your dream capsule wardrobe (feel free to read ahead to see how I style the Queen of Comfort Capsule Collection). If you like the sound of creating a capsule wardrobe but have no idea where to start, I teamed up with Encircled to create a wardrobe planning tool to help guide your style focus. The best part, it’s so simple and fun. Remember all those style quizzes we used to take in our favourite fashion mag? Encircled has come up with a quiz that will show you your style personality and point you in the right direction for what capsule wardrobe essentials to look for.
Maybe you have shopped with Encircled before but aren’t maximizing the style potential of the pieces you chose. Maybe this is a totally new brand to you, and you’re trying to assess the best way to start. Either way, the quiz will show you ways to maximize your wardrobe to its full potential. After taking the quiz, you’ll receive a copy of the Encircled Minimalist Wardrobe Workbook – an amazing step-by-step capsule wardrobe planner.
Want to get started? Click here to take the quiz and discover amazing, versatile pieces best suited for your lifestyle. And, in case you were wondering, my style personality is Queen of Comfort – a capsule wardrobe type that prioritizes comfy clothes.

I want the pieces I add to my wardrobe to work for me in more than one way. I want my LBD to be comfortable enough for a day of errands and making dinner but also stylish enough that it can be dressed up for a dinner out. The Everyday T-shirt dress is a classic cut with 2 necklines, and pockets! { I am wearing the 2XL in the dress. I sized up for a looser, slouchier look.}
The Dressy Sweatpant just might be a dream come true. The pants have a beautiful shape to them, which refines the look of the pant, all while offering all the comfort of sweatpants. These are the ultimate pants for a Comfort Queen! {I am wearing the XL in the sweatpants. This is my usual size.}
I’m going to make a bold statement, this just might be the most perfect tank top I’ve ever had. The straps cover my bra, the soft bamboo, organic cotton blend feels divine, and the length and drape offer the coverage and styling versatility I want. On top of all that, the tank can be worn back to front or front to back, giving you a choice of neckline. {I am wearing the XL in the tank. That is my usual size.}
Comfort should not have to be sacrificed in the name of style and style should not have to be sacrificed for comfort. Looking polished while achieving an ease to your personal look, doesn’t have to be a difficult process. Once you find the key items to your wardrobe, and play around with all the different ways they can be styled, your personal style will shine through.
