Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers...Featuring a 30-Day Traffic Growth Challenge

admin

The following post is brought to you by our sponsor, Traffic Secrets: the Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers.  All opinions expressed below are solely my own based on my personal experience taking part in the Traffic Secrets 30-Day Challenge.

One of the biggest challenges bloggers -- myself included -- face isn’t creating compelling content and photography. The true challenge is to  create a long-term connection with a loyal audience among a sea of other blogs competing for their time and attention. I'm always looking for ways to "stand out" in a crowded field of talented food and travel content creators. Many bloggers become burnt out and stop blogging altogether. That's at least partially because they don’t understand the science of getting your target audience to find you...and become a repeat visitor. In his new book Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers, entrepreneur Russell Brunson shares his proven technique and systems that allow bloggers to be at the front of new trends and discover how to maximize their marketing opportunities. I'm so excited to take part in a special 30-Day Challenge implementing Brunson's step-by-step plan to grow The Weekend Gourmet's traffic this month!

In Traffic Secrets, Brunson provides readers a simple, step-wise method to master the concept of long-term, strategic "evergreen traffic strategies" in lieu of short-term fixes. The idea is to fill  website and social media funnels with a targeted dream audience. Brunson's program helps ensure a long-term, ongoing readership -- instead of quick visits and one-time visitors. Brunson is the best-selling author and CEO of ClickFunnels. He's built a following of 1 million + entrepreneurs and popularized the concept of sales funnels.

As mentioned above, I'm taking part in Brunson's Traffic Secrets 30-Day Challenge all this month. By completing this challenge, I'll learn key strategies to increase traffic here at The Weekend Gourmet and my connected social platforms. So far, I've used Traffic Secret's companion workbook to put Brunson's techniques into action uniquely for me! I've been concentrating on the challenge's first two tasks: (1) Identify Your Dream Audience and (2) Identify Your Dream 100 Online Resources.

Identify You Dream Audience
This is the foundational task that must be completed before moving forward with the rest of Brunson's program. To put the rest of the challenge into action, you must determine EXACTLY WHO you're writing for! In this video, Brunson explains why this task is so vital:

During this initial phase of the 30-Day Challenge, I thought very carefully about a pair of presumptions. First, there are three main desires my ideal readers will have. They're much like me: women AND men aged 35+ who enjoy cooking at home, dining out, and culinary travel. From there, I came up with a trio of specific wants and needs for this group:
  • Quick and easy recipes -- a mix of healthy and indulgent -- that don't sacrifice flavor.
  • Step-by-step directions and photos for every recipe. Many cooks aren't experienced and need a reference for how a dish should look as it's being made.
  • Detailed dining out and culinary travel features. My target readers want to know where to eat when they travel to a city. For my Texas-based readers, I need to feature at least 25% Texas-specific restaurant spotlights and culinary travel features. I discovered that photos are helpful, but video is also expected.
Second, I learned that readers gravitate toward experiences that bring them pleasure. Relating to The Weekend Gourmet, that means focusing on excellent photos, compelling video, and succinct text. I was surprised to learn that most blog readers don't want extraneous verbiage before a recipe. However, this isn't the case for dining out and travel features, however. Those readers seem to focus more on your personal, first-hand experience when visiting a restaurant, hotel, attraction, etc. For a final note, I'm very active on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. That means I also need to ensure I have synergy between my blog posts and social media platforms to ensure consistency among all of my communication platforms.

Identify Your Dream 100 Online Resources
Once you know who your target audience is...and what they want...it's time for the next step. According to Brunson, you need to know where to find your dream audience:

Over the next week or so, I'll perform some in-depth research to determine the top 100 websites, food and travel blogs, Google keywords, forums, message boards, Facebook Groups/influencers, Instagram influencers, podcasts, YouTube influencers, and e-mail newsletters that will comprise my personal Dream 100 online resources. During this time, I'll also identify the key food and travel clients I'm most eager to partner with for sponsored posts. After this research is complete, I'll focus my daily online interactions solely with my Dream 100 online resources and desired clients. That's because these places are where my dream audience and potential clients are most likely to spend their time!

After these tasks are complete, I'll spend the second half of this month implementing the Traffic Secrets 30-Day Challenge's next steps. I'll interact with potential new audience members...and reach out to inquire about marketing partnerships with my preferred potential clients. I'll review and refine my "hooks, stories, and offers" marketing pitch. Finally, I'll learn how to convert my newly increased blog and social media traffic into a robust evergreen funnel of long-term readers and clients.
