How to Make Air Fryer Shrimp
Be sure to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions!
- Add the shrimp and marinade ingredients to a zip-top bag and chill.
- When ready, place the shrimp in the air fryer basket.
- Cook until the shrimp has have curled and are an opaque pink in color.
Large, raw shrimp is best! You can also use smaller shrimp, but reduce the cook time by a couple minutes.
Instead of fish sauce, use the same amount of oyster sauce or soy sauce.
Marinate this shrimp in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
For juicy, just barely done shrimp, cook for 6-8 minutes in an air fryer set to 350°F. For more well-done shrimp, cook in an air fryer set to 380-400°F for 5 minutes.
To ensure the shrimp stays crispy, reheat leftover shrimp in the air fryer at 300°F until warmed through.
Serving Suggestions
This air fryer shrimp is great served as an appetizer by itself with a wedge of lemon and some parsley, or serve it up as a dip like Garlic Aioli. It can also be served as a main with some freshly cooked pasta or rice.
However you decide to serve it, this shrimp is guaranteed delicious!
Tips!
- For best results, use fresh raw shrimp. If using frozen, thaw them fully before marinading.
- You can cook these shrimp with tails on or off, but be sure to devein them.
- Cook the shrimp in a single layer so that they cook evenly, and give the basket a shake halfway through cooking. If you double the recipe, be sure to cook them in batches.
- Air fryer models can run slightly differently, so adjust the cook time as needed.
These shrimp are so addictive, but the good news is, is that they are low in carbs and fat and high in protein, so there’s no need to stop at one!
Do I have to marinate the shrimp?
For the most flavor, let the shrimp marinate for at least 30 minutes. If you’re in a rush, skip the marinate time, coat the shrimp with the marinade, and add to the air fryer.
How long does this shrimp last?
Store leftover shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
How can I make this shrimp less spicy?
For less spicy shrimp, use about half of the cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
