Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams Read Books to Fundraise For Kids Impacted by School Closures

admin

Two undisputed national treasures - Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams - are teaming up to help kids impacted by school closures amid the COVID-19 outbreak. The actresses just launched Save With Stories to directly raise money for Save the Children and No Kid Hungry, both of which are providing food and educational supplies for the millions of children who rely on their schools for both. The initiative has its own brand-new Instagram account, @SaveWithStories, where they'll be sharing videos of celebrities reading children's books aloud to entertain, educate, and distract kids and parents who are social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the first post on the fundraiser's Instagram page, Jen and Amy offered a more in-depth explanation of exactly what all donations will be supporting. "These funds will help us make sure that families know how to find meals when schools are closed, support mobile meal trucks, food banks and other community feeding programs, provide educational toys, books and worksheets, and support out-of-school-time programs to help kids make up for lost time in the classroom," they wrote.

Jen kickstarted the storytelling fundraiser by reading an adorable picture book titled The Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark, and Amy followed suit shortly after by narrating Dinosaur Princess, a story written by her 9-year-old daughter, Aviana Olea, and illustrated by her husband, Darren Le Gallo - how sweet! From what we can tell, more big-name stars will be getting in on the heartwarming action by reading other books soon, and we can't wait to see who Jen and Amy tap next. In the meantime, you can support Save With Stories by donating at savethechildren.org/savewithstories or texting "SAVE" to 20222 to make a one-time donation of $10.
