Sen. Micheal Bennet is a likable guy, and I believe he “really caught that fish.”
What frustrates me though is how often he has voted the party line. For example, he supported the “Build Back Better” bill. Fortunately, there were a few strong-willed Democrats that understood the bill’s dangerous impact and didn’t fold under extreme party pressure. That is the kind of senator we need in Congress.
I was also disappointed in Sen. Bennet’s newer ad because it reeks of traditional party politics. It falsely paints challenger Joe O’Dea as a radical anti-abortion candidate. It’s true he voted against unrestricted abortions. However, O’Dea’s stated position is that he’s open to early abortions but against those in the third trimester. That’s a reasonable position most Coloradans would agree with. The ad also guesses how O’Dea would have voted for U.S. Supreme Court justices. It could be accurate, but without confirmation, it’s just an unsubstantiated attempt to taint a proven moderate.
