Perfectly Paired: Napa Family Fun at the Meritage Resort & Spa

admin

Wine loving parents rejoice! This summer, family fun in Napa and wine tasting has never been more perfectly paired than at the Meritage Resort and Spa and its sister property, Vista Collina at the Meritage. Family-friendly wineries make it possible for a trip to wine country to be a family affair but Meritage takes it up another notch. Find out all the reasons below how families and wine tasting are a great blend at the Meritage Resort and Spa and why your family will want to visit this summer.

Pool Time

The poolside cabanas at Vista Collina are set up for long days at the pool and perfect for relaxing and snack breaks in between marathon swim sessions. For instance, each cabana comes with a mini-fridge stocked with water and sodas along with a safe for valuables. On our visit, a bottle of Prosecco was also included and part of the package. In addition, a bar and poolside dining service means you can easily spend the entire day there while avoiding hangry (or thirsty!) meltdowns.

Need a break from the sun? Head to Crush Lounge with its pool tables and six-lane bowling alley all while serving up cocktails and of course, wine.  Our gutterball gurus enjoyed knocking down a few pins in between scarfing down fish tacos, nachos and burgers. You’ll want to sign up for an extra round of bowling because our crew couldn’t get enough of downing milkshakes while aiming (but not quite succeeding) for strikes!

Village Time

Meritage Resort & Spa

At the heart of the resort is the Village's expansive lawn where giant Jenga and cornhole can be enjoyed. This scenic area is surrounded by four tasting rooms, a food truck and an upscale grocery store with everything you’d want for a picnic. In true Napa fashion, they have “bar-ista” coffee drinks—try the salted caramel whiskey latte and thank us later! We loved that kids had room to roam and play while we wine tasted and picnicked before moving to the fire pits for a lazy evening of s’mores. Above all, we try to incorporate enjoyable experiences for the entire family when traveling and felt like the resort hit it head on by simultaneously keeping everyone happy and entertained.

Vineyard Time

Dusk was our favorite time to walk the resort’s nine acre working vineyard with its rolling hills and idyllic grapevines. Walking trails criss-cross the vineyard with a short uphill ascent to the famous "Crusher" statue with glorious views of Napa Valley at your feet. This spot is also prime for watching the sunset if your littles are up for some late night action of the very best kind. In addition, kids will also love the farm-to-table garden and visiting the 14 resident chickens at the Sunny Side Up Ranch.

In conclusion, the prime location of the Meritage puts it minutes away from major Napa attractions and wineries but why would you possibly want to leave?! With the kids having an epic time, great food and wine set in breath-taking scenery, the Meritage has it all! This summer, the Perfectly Paired Family Fun package is available for bookings of two nights or more and include:

  • Slumber Party welcome amenity featuring candy and popcorn
  • Guest’s choice of either
  • a) Poolside Cabana for four (4)
