2. NACOS, CUE POINT, WHITE CITY
You’re probably familiar with Taco Tuesday, perhaps the best part about any Tuesday, but we’re introducing you to NACO Tuesday. What exactly is a Naco? It is a naan taco topped with an assortment of slow cooked meat and condiments, all devised by the team behind Cue Point LDN. The 24-hour smoked beef brisket is served with a dollop of pickled chilli relish and instantly melts in your mouth, whilst the fat melts into the soft naco below. You can also opt for smoked lamb, fried chicken, and a vegan option too!
Halal status: All meats are halal. No pork but alcohol is present.

Karvon, a Uyghur restaurant on Finchley road, serve up traditional dishes in their homely, family-run restaurant. Their hand-pulled noodles are out of this world good; freshly made with the perfect amount of bite to them. The big plate chicken is what you want to come here for though – large belt noodles that are sitting in an aromatic, spiced chicken broth, filled with chopped chicken pieces, chillies, and peppers. A great option if you’re in a group!

Moi Moi Island is a Caribbean and West African takeaway joint that has recently opened in Kentish Town, by the team behind Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream, Guanabana, Ramo Ramen, and Bintang. If you’re looking for something hot, the beef suya is what you need to order; beef seasoned in a combination of peanut powder, ginger, and PLENTY of Nigerian chillies, served with rice or in a wrap. Just a warning, this can be quite hot so keep the tissues handy and opt for extra white sauce. Other notable dishes here are the tacos and jerk chicken with rice and beans.

This is served with the Honest Burgers’ famous rosemary salted chips, all for £12.50. Just be sure to order this without the bacon!

6. ASSAM PEDAS, NORMAH’S, QUEENSWAY
We’ve raved on about Normah’s from every street corner since the minute we stepped foot into the cute family-run restaurant, but by golly, the food just gets better and better. If you’re looking for the ultimate comfort dish, tangy, sour, sweet, and hot, then the Assam Pedas is a must, must-order. You can expect a whole seabass stewed in a tamarind-heavy soup filled with okra and pineapple, where the heat (the good-kind) instantly hits you at the back of the the throat. They only have 20 portions available a day so make sure you pre-order or head there early! The curry laksa is a good alternative if you don’t fancy the fish.
